De Bioderij was established by Jan Vink in the early 1990s, with the production and sale of cream cheese and various yoghurts as the main activity. The name ‘De Bioderij’ still echoes those early days of manufacturing ‘biogarde’ (live yoghurt) on the ‘boerderij’ (farm). The product range was expanded with ready-made chilled pancakes in 1993, and with chilled poffertjes in 1996. The production of live yoghurt was soon hived off, allowing De Bioderij to focus exclusively on the production of pancakes and poffertjes. This transition was accompanied by major growth.
Today, De Bioderij provides all major retail chains and the foodservice sector in and outside Europe with pre-packaged pancakes and poffertjes. Its products are exported over 30 countries around the world. De Bioderij satisfies the most stringent of quality and food safety requirements and holds important certification including HACCP, BRC high level, IFS and Organic (SKAL). The company’s high-tech production facility, based in Sliedrecht, is not only equipped to manufacture chilled, frozen and non-perishable products, but also has the highest production capacity for pancakes and poffertjes in the whole of Europe.
